What is the APPIA MTB Program?
"An Introduction to Multi-tissue Control Blocks (MTB)" is an APPIA education program that contains recommendations for constructing and using MTBs for routine and advanced staining to help manage laboratory workflow.
This document includes instructions on how to construct MTBs using specific tissue types to help laboratories with verification, reverfication, and everyday controls for a vast number of routine and advanced high medical value assays. Also included is specific quality control guidance from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) on the use of positive controls, negative controls, antibody validation/verification, performance testing and a list of resources for getting started with multi-tissue blocks.
